  • The SSG said the swearing ceremony will take place at 8:30 am on Monday at the late Aliyu Akwe Doma Banquet hall in the government house.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) secured a sweeping victory in Nasarawa’s local government elections, winning all 13 chairmanship positions.

Ayuba Wandai, Chairman of the Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission (NASIEC), announced the results on Sunday in Lafia, revealing APC’s dominance in the councillorship elections, with 140 wins out of 147 electoral wards.

In contrast, opposing parties managed to secure only seven seats, with the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) achieving limited successes in specific local governments, as stated by Wandai.

“Candidates of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) won one seat in Akwanga, four in Nassarawa-Eggon, while Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) won two in Doma Local Government”.
