  • Youths from 19 northern states gathered in Kaduna to advocate for a younger presidential candidate in the 2027 elections
  • The National Youth Alliance aims to unify youths across political parties to push for meaningful change and innovative leadership

Youths from Nigeria’s 19 northern states gathered in Kaduna yesterday to rally for a “new Nigeria” and advocate for a younger presidential candidate in the 2027 elections.

Organized by the National Youth Alliance (NYA), the summit highlighted the importance of generational change in leadership to address the country’s economic challenges and provide fresh ideas.

Ambassador Aliyu Bin Abbas, President of NYA, shared the group’s determination to unify youths from various political backgrounds, including the APC, PDP, LP, APGA, and NNPP.

“As patriotic Nigerians, these youths came together to express their desire for meaningful change and a new direction for the nation,” Abbas stated.

He attributed Nigeria’s current economic struggles to a lack of innovative leadership and called for a departure from established political norms.

Although he has faced threats from certain politicians, Abbas assured us that he will remain undeterred in pushing for a reformed leadership structure that aligns with the needs of ordinary Nigerians.

The NYA summit represents an early signal of youth intent to influence the upcoming elections and demands leadership that is responsive to the realities on the ground.
