AbdulRazaq inaugurates governing council for Kwara state university of education

The 11-member council has a former vice-chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Shuaib Oba Abdulraheem (OFR), as its chairman

  • In an address to the council, Governor Abdulrazaq said the inauguration was another step in the evolution of KWASUED, which his administration established.

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has inaugurated the 11-member Governing Council of the Kwara State University of Education (KWASUED).

The council, chaired by Shuaib Oba Abdulraheem, former vice-chancellor of the University of Ilorin, aims to establish KWASUED as a successor to the College of Education Ilorin.

Abdulraheem emphasized that the university is vital for Kwara’s sustainable future in education and related disciplines.

He urged the council to ensure seamless transition, resist unnecessary hiring, and prioritize competence and inclusion.

The governor also appointed Oba Ismail Alebiosu as the university’s chancellor.

Dignitaries in attendance included the State APC Chairman, Deputy Chief of Staff, Commissioner for Tertiary Education, and Senior Adviser and Counsellor.

Commissioner Mary Arinde praised the governor for establishing the institution, marking a significant step in advancing the university’s vision and mission.

Council Chairman Abdulraheem thanked the governor for his passion for qualitative education, pledging to achieve his dream of building a renowned university.

The governor also presented buses to the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) and the National Association of Kwara State Students (NAKSS).

Their leaders, Issa Arikewuyo and Abdulwahab Ridwan, expressed gratitude for the gesture.
