According to Bayo Onanuga, the president’s special adviser on information, Tinubu urged an immediate cessation of the “prolonged Israeli aggression” in Gaza.

The president emphasized that “the conflict in Palestine has persisted for far too long, inflicting immeasurable suffering.”

Tinubu advocated for a ceasefire in Gaza, reaffirming Nigeria’s support for a two-state solution where Israelis and Palestinians coexist peacefully.

“The conflict in Palestine has persisted for far too long, inflicting immeasurable suffering on countless lives,” the statement reads.

“As representatives of nations that value justice, dignity, and the sanctity of human life, we have a moral obligation to collectively bring about an immediate end to this conflict.”

President Tinubu stressed that parties involved must adhere to proportionality principles and safeguard civilians’ fundamental rights in accordance with international law.

The Nigerian president commended King Salman Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for organizing the summit.

He noted that it presents a vital opportunity for Nigeria to revitalize diplomatic efforts and promote stability in the Middle East
