- Funeral service is scheduled for Friday, 15th of November
The body of the late Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, has arrived in Abuja ahead of his burial, scheduled for Friday.
The Nigerian Air Force plane carrying Lagbaja’s corpse arrived the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja at 12:15 pm on Thursday.
The Service of Songs is scheduled to take place today, Thursday, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Army Headquarters Garrison Parade Ground, Mogadishu Cantonment, Abuja.
His funeral service is scheduled for Friday from 10:00 am, at the National Christian Centre, located in Abuja’s Central Business District.
The final interment will follow at the National Military Cemetery from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm on the same day.
Lagbaja died last week Tuesday at the age of 56, after an undisclosed ailment.
He was appointed as Chief of Army Staff by President Bola Tinubu on June 19, 2023.
