1,731 INEC officers get promotion

  • Tadese noted that the exercise stressed INEC’s unflinching commitment to improving staff welfare and supporting career progression.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says 1,73 officers in its employ have been pencilled for promotion.

The electoral umpire said the promotions of the officers, who passed the 2024 promotion examinations, have been approved.

The commission announced the development in a statement on Wednesday by it Director, Voter Education and Publicity, Adenike Tadese disclosed this in a bulletin on Tuesday.

According to the statement which showed detailed breakdown of the promotions list, 59 deputy directors were elevated to the rank of directors, 168 assistant directors to the rank of deputy directors.

Also, 167 chiefs on grade level 14 were elevated to the position of assistant directors, and 1,337 other officers between grade levels 7 and 13, were also promoted, accordingly.

Tadese noted that the exercise stressed INEC’s unflinching commitment to improving staff welfare and supporting career progression.

The statement reiterated INEC’s commitment to fostering a supportive work environment recognising and rewarding hard work, diligence, competence and professional growth.

According to her, the commitment ensures a motivated workforce capable of delivering on INEC’s mandate of conducting credible elections
