Esther Walson-Jack, Head of Service of the Federation, has launched AI-powered tools to boost communication and efficient service delivery.

Walson-Jack unveiled these initiatives at a dinner honoring newly promoted directors in Abuja on Friday.

The introduced initiatives include Service-Wise GPT, an AI-driven assistant to enhance decision-making and efficiency among civil servants.

These initiatives also feature GOVMail, a secure email platform for official communication, and the Nigeria Federal Civil Service Online Academy for skill development.

The HoS emphasized that these tools are vital for modernizing the civil service, meeting citizen needs efficiently, and driving reforms through technology.

Earlier, she introduced new policies and guidelines to transform the civil service, enhancing its efficiency and effectiveness.

“The four transformative policies and guidelines to include: Rewards and Recognition Policy and Guidelines; Incentives and Consequence Management Policy and Guidelines; Mentoring Framework, and the Protocol on the Use of Federal Government Secretariat,” she said.

Walson-Jack added that these policies align with the public service rules 2021 and FCSSIP-25, ensuring strategic coherence and measurable impact.

The HoS, celebrating her 100 days in office, stressed the civil service’s crucial role in driving transformative changes and optimizing performance.

In August, President Bola Tinubu swore in Walson-Jack as the HoS, succeeding Folashade Yemi-Esan, who retired.

Addressing 332 newly promoted directors, the HoS emphasized that their promotion marks the beginning of a more challenging yet fulfilling role.

“As newly promoted directors, you have reached the pinnacle that reflects not just your achievements, but trust and expectation placed upon you by the Federal Civil Service and the nation,” she said.

Walson-Jack urged the newly promoted directors to reaffirm their commitment to good governance, transparency, efficiency, and accountability.

“I urge you therefore to embrace this opportunity for growth and development. I will like to inspire you to reach new heights in your career,” she added.
