Her achievement has positioned her as an inspiration for women within the service and beyond.

Reflecting on her path, she spoke about the challenges she faced, particularly the tough decision to remain in public service while others pursued more lucrative opportunities in the airline industry.

“Staying in the Service was tough, but I was determined to contribute to public service and fulfill my dream of becoming a pilot,” Olanike said.

“I hope my journey will motivate young Nigerians, especially women, to chase their dreams and overcome barriers,” she added.”

The Comptroller General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, also praised Balogun’s accomplishment, recognizing it as a testament to the NCS’s commitment to fostering talent and innovation.

“Her story exemplifies what is possible with determination and institutional support,” Adeniyi remarked.
