Rivers State University, Port Harcourt, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the University of Rwanda to foster student, teacher, and staff exchange programmes.
Speaking at the university’s 36th convocation lecture, Rwandan High Commissioner Christophe Bazivamo highlighted the importance of collaboration among African universities, noting that such partnerships drive development and mutual benefits.
Bazivamo also emphasised Rwanda’s visa-free policy for Africans, advocating for continent-wide implementation to ease mobility and enhance cooperation. “Opening borders fosters security and boosts revenue,” he said.

Guest lecturer Prof. Lawal Bilbis called for increased education funding to support digital infrastructure and address Nigeria’s challenges in integrating technology into learning.
