  • The Nigerian Navy is committed to global best practices in forensic and investigative operations to support national development and security
  • Vice Admiral Ogalla emphasized the importance of specialized training for officers to enhance their skills in forensic investigations

The Nigerian Navy has reaffirmed its dedication to adopting global best practices in forensic and investigative operations to support national development.

The Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, made this known during a graduation ceremony for three specialized courses held at the Nigerian Navy Provost and Regulating School in Makurdi, Benue State. Vice Admiral Ogalla was represented at the event by Rear Admiral Noel Madugu.

The courses—Advanced Provost Officers Course, Advanced Detective Investigation Course, and Outriders Course—aimed to improve the skills of officers and ratings in the Navy’s Provost and Regulating Department.

Ogalla noted that completing the newly introduced Advanced Provost Officers Course and Advanced Detective Investigation Course was a significant milestone for the Service.

“As pioneers, you are now custodians of forensics and specialist investigators in the Nigerian Navy. We expect you to consolidate your training by showing diligence and achieving greater success in the field,” Ogalla said.

He encouraged the graduates to maintain professionalism and continually upgrade their skills to stay aligned with global standards in forensics and investigations.

The Commandant of the School, Navy Captain Henry Ejeh, highlighted that the 10-week training included classroom lectures, practical demonstrations, and hands-on attachments.

The program was designed to equip participants with top-tier law enforcement skills within and outside the military.
