President Bola Tinubu has condemned the recent stampedes in Abuja, Oyo, and Anambra states as serious mistakes made by the event organizers.
Tinubu shared his thoughts during his first media chat since taking office last year.
Although the food distribution organizers had good intentions, the tragic events ultimately resulted in loss of life, Tinubu noted.
The president stressed the importance of implementing a more efficient and organized food distribution system.
Tinubu stated, “If you know you don’t have enough to give, do not attempt to publicise it. Every society has its share of angry people.
“There are food banks, but unfortunately, the stampedes occurred. It is a very grave error on the part of the organisers,”
