The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, has called on newly promoted Nigerian Navy and Army senior officers to intensify efforts against terrorism, banditry, and oil theft.

He urged the officers to make 2025 a turning point in addressing these security challenges.

General Musa made the statement on Monday during the decoration ceremony for the promoted officers. He stressed the urgency of tackling these issues, which have plagued Nigeria for over 15 years.

Last Thursday, the Nigerian Navy, Army, and Air Force boards announced the promotion of 306 senior officers across the three services after a rigorous selection process.

Speaking at the event, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, reminded the newly promoted Major Generals that their higher ranks come with greater responsibilities.

Similarly, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, the Chief of Naval Staff, urged the officers to uphold diligence and integrity in their new roles.

The ceremony marked a significant moment in the fight against insecurity, as the military leadership emphasized the need for decisive action to restore peace and stability in the country.
