Gov Soludo signs 2025 appropriation bill into law, promises positive change in Anambra

The State House of Assembly last Thursday passed the 2025 budget of N607 billion into law.

  • The budget tagged ‘Changing Gears 2.0’, had 48 per cent increase over the budget of 2024 which was N410 billion.

Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra state has signed the State 2025 Appropriation Bill of N607 billion into law.

The governor expressed optimism that this budget would bring about significant positive change in Anambra State in the coming year.

“With this signing, Anambra state will be ready to begin the journey of implementing the 2025 budget with effect from January 1, 2025,” he said.

The State House of Assembly had previously passed the 2025 budget into law.

Soludo thanked the Speaker, Dr. Somtochukwu Udeze, and assembly members for their cooperation and dedication, ensuring swift budget passage.

The approved budget for 2025 is N606,991,849,118, with recurrent expenditures amounting to N139.5 billion and capital expenditures totaling N467.5 billion.

The capital expenditure accounts for 77% of the total budget, while recurrent expenditure accounts for 23%.

The budget has a deficit of N148.3 billion, which will be covered through revenue growth or loans from financial institutions.

This budget, tagged ‘Changing Gears 2.0’, represents a 48% increase from the 2024 budget of N410 billion.
