We may not be hearing the last of the crisis rocking Rivers State anytime soon as hostilities among the major political actors spill into the new year.

Recall that Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his estranged political godfather, Nyesom Wike have been at daggers drawn since late 2023 over control of the state’s resources and political structure.

Speaking at the crossover into 2025 church service held at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Opobo Town in Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area, Fubara vowed to squash every plan of the enemies.

During the event, Governor Fubara sang a praise and worship song, with the congregation picking up the lines, and singing along: “At the mention of your name, God, every knee shall bow. At the mention of your name, every tongue confesses. That you are Lord, you are Lord, you are King, you are King of kings.”

The governor opine that the wordings of the song were not just consolatory but a charge to boost the people’s morale and encourage them to firm up their trust in God.

He noted that only God can navigate the path to greater triumph in the New Year.

He said: “The Red Biro is still filled. It is still here with me. Every enemy’s plan will continue to crash”, he added.
