- According to the police, the suspect had lured the survivor into his parents’ sitting room, instructed her to remove her underwear, and then defiled her.
Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have apprehended a 17-year-old boy, Jamiu Adebayo, for allegedly assaulting his neighbour’s eight-year-old daughter.
The police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, revealed this information in a statement on Sunday.
According to Odutola, the suspect deceived the young girl into entering his parents’ living room, where he instructed her to remove her clothing and then proceeded to violate her.
This horrific incident resulted in the young girl suffering injuries, which led to bleeding. When questioned by her mother, the girl falsely claimed that her injuries were caused by a stick.
Odutola quoted the survivor’s mother, Olabode, saying she was absent when neighbours informed her of the incident.
The police command has taken the suspect into custody, and a thorough investigation is underway to uncover the facts surrounding the crime.
Odutola stated, “The suspect took her (the survivor) to their bathroom to clean the blood, then instructed her to change into another pair of underwear.
“He also persuaded her to lie, claiming that a stick had caused the injury to her private parts.
“Detectives swiftly sprang into action and apprehended the suspect.
“A medical form has been issued to the victim and her mother for examination and reporting. Preliminary investigations are currently underway.”
