  • Enyimba’s CAF Confederation Cup campaign ends with a 3-1 defeat to Zamalek, finishing third in Group D with five points
  • Zamalek’s Jaziri scores twice, while Enyimba’s Ihemekwele nets one goal, but it isn’t enough to secure advancement

Enyimba’s journey in the CAF Confederation Cup ended with a 3-1 defeat to Zamalek at Cairo International Stadium on Sunday night.

Mustafa Shalaby opened the scoring for Zamalek in the 29th minute. Shortly after halftime, Seifeddine Jaziri extended the home team’s lead.

Enyimba fought back when Ifeanyi Ihemekwele scored in the 57th minute, giving the Nigerian side hope. However, Jaziri struck again, securing his brace just three minutes before full time to seal the win for Zamalek.

With this result, Enyimba finished their Group D campaign in third place, collecting only five points from six matches.
