  • The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria announced the 2025 Hajj fare, with rates exceeding ₦8 million for intending pilgrims nationwide
  • Pilgrims from Borno and Adamawa will pay ₦8,327,125.59, while those from southern states face a fare of ₦8,784,085.59

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced the 2025 Hajj fare, with rates exceeding ₦8 million for intending pilgrims across the country.

In a statement, Fatima Sanda Usara, NAHCON’s Assistant Director of Information and Publication, disclosed that pilgrims from the Borno and Adamawa zones will pay ₦8,327,125.59. Meanwhile, those from other northern zones are to pay ₦8,457,685.59. For intending pilgrims from the southern states, the fare is set at ₦8,784,085.59.

Usara explained that the announced fares received approval from the Office of the Vice President of Nigeria.

“The Chairman and his team, in collaboration with representatives of the Presidency, including Malam Ameen Amshi, Special Assistant to the President on Special Duties, worked diligently to maintain the fare within the range of previous charges,” she said.

Efforts to curb excessive costs also involved the leadership of State Pilgrims Welfare Boards. Key contributors included Malam Idris Ahmad Almakura, the Forum Chairman and Executive Secretary (E.S.) of Nasarawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board, alongside Alhaji Faruku Aliyu Yaro, Deputy Chairman of the Forum and Kebbi State E.S., and Alhaji Abubakar Salihu, E.S. of Adamawa State.

The fares were finalized following extensive consultations to ensure inclusivity and affordability. NAHCON Chairman, Professor Saleh, described the finalized rates as the result of broad collaboration with all stakeholders, including the Presidency and State Executive Secretaries Forum.

Saleh urged prospective pilgrims to adhere to Saudi guidelines and timelines for registration and payment, emphasizing the importance of early action to avoid last-minute challenges.

This announcement highlights the commission’s efforts to balance affordability with the rising costs of Hajj services.
