  • Senator Wabara criticized Nyesom Wike for disrespectful comments, refusing to engage in a war of words and defending his integrity
  • The PDP BoT Chairman described Wike’s remarks as lacking decorum, emphasizing the need for mature and respectful communication

The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees, Senator Adolphus Wabara, has criticized Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), following recent comments made by Wike.

Responding to Wike’s remark that he would have disowned Wabara if the senator were his father, Wabara described Wike as someone who “speaks like a broken water pipe without a tap.”

Wabara, a former Senate President and elder statesman, expressed disappointment in Wike’s language, noting that it lacked the decorum expected of someone in his position as a Minister and former Governor.

He stated that engaging in a war of words with Wike would not align with the dignity of his role as a former Number Three Citizen of Nigeria.

The PDP leader criticized Wike’s tendency to make unguarded comments and urged him to respect his position and its responsibilities.

Wabara also dismissed allegations of corruption, emphasizing his integrity and clean record.

“For a son to disown his father, the father must have wronged him terribly. Can Wike tell the world what I did wrong to him?” Wabara asked.

He added that Nigerians are well aware of those involved in corrupt practices and confidently declared himself free of such accusations.

Wabara concluded by urging Wike to choose his words carefully and refrain from making statements that lack respect and maturity.
