Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 election, has criticised the current administration, saying there are more “Yahoo people” in government than outside.

He stated this during his keynote address at the 4th graduation ceremony of Nexford University, themed “Lead the Change; Ignite Your Future.”

Obi stressed that the country is suffering due to corrupt officials who are draining government resources.

“When we talk about vices, don’t just think of Yahoo boys. There are more Yahoo people in government than outside, as we’ve turned the entire country into a crime scene where those in power and those outside are both stealing,”

He further highlighted the need for quality leadership, urging graduates to become agents of positive change.

“Leadership and igniting the future are not rocket science, but they require a strong character and the ability to do the right thing. Use what you’ve learned to help change society,” the former Anambra state governor said.

Obi also lamented that the younger generation is suffering as a result of past leaders’ failure to make the right decisions.
