My health took a hit as president but improved after I left office – Buhari

  • He noted that those who are not in power are oblivious to the enormity of the challenges facing Nigeria

Former President Muhammadu Buhari says he has experienced an improvement in his health since leaving office on May 29, 2023.

Buhari said the rigours of the works that come with occupying such position put a strain on his health and took a toll on his wellbeing.

While in office as President, Buhari spent a lengthy period of time outside Nigeria receiving medical attention.

He handed over to Bola Tinubu after serving his two terms as President.

Speaking at an All Progressives Congress, APC, stakeholders’ meeting at the Katsina State Government House, Buhari disclosed that the complexities of being the President of Nigeria affected his health.

He noted that those who are not in power are oblivious to the enormity of the challenges facing Nigeria.

“Those outside the corridors of power do not understand the complexities and difficulties facing Nigeria.

“My health has improved since leaving office. People who visited me told me I look better than before.”
