The Oyo State Government has converted 1,591 ad hoc local council workers into permanent staff, fulfilling Governor Seyi Makinde’s promise.

Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Ademola Ojo, announced the decision on Friday, stating that appointment letters would be available for collection from 3 to 6 February 2025.

The conversion, approved last October, aims to strengthen the workforce at the local government level. Ojo emphasised that due process was followed and warned that collection by proxy would not be allowed.

Successful candidates can collect their letters at the Local Government Service Commission between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on designated days, depending on their job category.
