In Ogun State, one Razak Jimoh has been brutally murdered by unknown gunmen in the Lantoro area of Abeokuta, the State capital.

The 22-year-old deceased was said to have run into a residence while being chased by two masked men.

The assaillants then forcefully dragged him out to the corridor, axed him on the leg, and shot him in the head.

Confirming the incident on Sunday, the Police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, said the incident occurred at about 11 p.m. on Thursday.

Odutola stated that the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Kemta Division, upon getting the information, immediately mobilized detectives to the crime scene.

She noted that the victim’s body has since been deposited at the General Hospital for autopsy and further investigation.

While condemning the violent crime that may have been connected to cult-related activities, Odutola revealed that Commissioner of Police Lanre Ogunlowo ordered an urgent manhunt for the culprits and promised the public that those involved would face the full wrath of the law.

Meanwhile, she urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
