In a statement released on Tuesday by his spokesman, Daniel Alabrah, Governor Diri expressed deep sorrow over the loss of the Ijaw ethnic group’s foremost leader.

He described Chief Clark as an icon, a treasure of immeasurable value, and a true nationalist.

“He was a distinguished patriot who dedicated his entire life to Nigeria’s service. Until his last days, he remained steadfast in his commitment,” Governor Diri stated.

“As the Ijaw nation mourns this exceptional leader, we find comfort in his unparalleled contributions to national development.”

The governor extended heartfelt condolences on behalf of the Ijaw nation, the government, and the people of Bayelsa State to the Clark family in Kiagbodo, Burutu Local Government Area, and the Delta State government.

“I pray that the Lord grants the family and the entire Ijaw nation the strength to bear this profound loss,” he added.
