  • Kabir-Sani stated that their defection was influenced by Jaji’s “good representation and developmental strides” in the state’s governance.
  • Ibrahim Labbo-Anka mentioned that PDP members joined APC because it is the most dominant and influential political party in Zamfara.

Muhammad Kabir-Sani, who was the 2023 governorship candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in Zamfara, has officially defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The former AAC candidate, alongside members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), made their defection known on Saturday at Aminu Jaji’s residence in Gusau, Zamfara state.

Aminu Jaji currently serves as the lawmaker representing the Kaura Namoda/Birnin Magaji federal constituency in the national assembly of the country.

All those who defected to the ruling party were warmly received into the APC under the political structure known as the Jajiyya political movement.

During his speech, Kabir-Sani explained that he and his followers chose to align with APC due to Jaji’s “good representation and developmental strides” in Zamfara state.

Ibrahim Labbo-Anka, who represents the PDP house of assembly candidates’ forum, said their decision was because APC remains the most dominant political party in Zamfara.

“We had fruitful discussions with mutual understanding with Hon. Aminu Jaji, so we decided to join the APC, we will remain in the party for the development of our dear state,” NAN quoted Labbo-Anka as saying.

In response, Jaji appreciated their decision to defect, emphasizing that their entry into the party is an important milestone for APC in Zamfara state.

The national assembly member reassured the defectors that they would receive fair treatment and cooperation, ensuring unity to strengthen the party’s influence across the state.
