His condition reportedly worsened significantly, raising concerns among family members and supporters.

Okupe came into the world on March 22, 1952, and played a key role in establishing Royal Cross Medical Centre while also serving as National Publicity Secretary for NRC.

During General Sani Abacha’s military rule, he was arrested and later barred from contesting in United Nigeria Congress Party (UNCP) primary elections due to disqualification.

The deceased ex-spokesman of LP eventually became a strong supporter of President Bola Tinubu’s government after breaking ties with the party and its past flag bearer, Peter Obi.

He belonged to the well-known Agbonmagbe lineage in Iperu-Remo, a town situated within Ogun State.
