  • Lawson’s whereabouts remain uncertain as tactical teams, using tracking technology, continue searching for him in the affected area.

Operatives from the Abia police command have allegedly discovered the bodies of three people, including an officer, following a deadly attack and abduction in Azumini Ndoki, Ukwa East LGA.

Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency platform covering the Lake Chad area, cited intelligence reports indicating the victims were taken on 4 March when gunmen in a Toyota Sienna ambushed a convoy escorting Obasi Lawson, a businessman.

The report stated that the assailants fatally shot the driver and another passenger before escaping with Obasi Lawson, a businessman, and a police officer assigned to his security detail.

Makama revealed that after an extensive search lasting several days, police operatives recovered two bodies on 8 March, which were later identified as the driver and a civilian passenger.
