- Malami stressed that the coalition’s success depends on its ability to manage internal ambitions with discipline and collective focus.
- The former minister said political sabotage is expected but insisted the coalition is committed to pushing through.
The former attorney general of the federation (AGF) and minister of justice, Abubakar Malami, has expressed confidence in the emerging opposition coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Malami said the coalition has the strength to withstand internal crises, sabotage, and conflicting ambitions that may arise.
Speaking in a recent interview, the former minister acknowledged that political alliances are often prone to infiltration and instability.
“In any political arrangement, you cannot rule out infiltration, sabotage, or personal ambitions,” he said.
“But we are resolved to continue, and we are committed to overcoming whatever challenges arise.”
Malami, who recently joined the African Democratic Congress, ADC, after leaving the All Progressives Congress, APC, has become a key player in the growing opposition alliance.
He stressed that ambition is natural in politics, but noted that managing such ambition requires discipline and unity.
“Political engagement includes ambitions, but managing those ambitions is what makes the difference,” he added.
