- The ADC promised youth empowerment, employment creation, and inclusive governance devoid of tribal or class bias.
- The party also vowed to operate with transparency and adherence to its constitution under the newly formed Benue pro tem committee.
The Acting National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), David Mark, has declared that the party belongs to all Nigerians.
Mark stated this in Makurdi, the Benue state capital, during the unveiling of the opposition coalition to stakeholders.
He was represented by the former governor of Benue State, Gabriel Suswam.
Mark said the ADC would treat all members equally, without regard for status or background.
“There will be no discrimination or shortchanging of anyone. Everyone will be treated equally, regardless of who you are,” he said.
“The party is for the people, not for one person. We want the people to take ownership of the party, which is why we encourage you to consult and nominate potential leaders.”
“None of us will get involved directly in this process, and all sections of the society will be represented.”
“There will be a state leader for the disabled, women and all other groups.”
“So, let no one feel agitated about the potential leadership here. I have sent a message to let you know that I stand with all of you in Benue who are interested.”
Mark announced a seven-member interim leadership to run party affairs for 30 days, beginning July 9.
He said the team emerged through broad consultation and would conduct membership registration.
The committee is chaired by Terngu Tsegba, a former member of the house of representatives.
Others on the committee include Samson Okwu (security), Stephen Ayua (publicity secretary), Elizabeth Alagh, Cletus Tyokyaa, Abeji Egwa and Atoo Agber.
Tsegba assured the people that the ADC in Benue would deliver transparent governance.
