Tinubu played no role in Buhari’s emergence as president – Boss Mustapha

• Mustapha who served as SGF in Buhari’s administration downplayed the contributions of the incumbent to the emergence of Buhari as president in 2015

Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Mr Boss Mustapha, has claimed that incumbent President Bola Tinubu did not make Muhammadu Buhari Nigeria’s president.

Mustapha, who served as SGF in Buhari’s administration, downplayed the contributions of the former Lagos State governor to the emergence of Buhari as president in 2015, saying Buhari was already a colossal and formidable figure with massive national appeal before merging with Tinubu.

According to him, Buhari already had 12 million existing votes and the merger of the legacy parties merely gave him three million votes.

He spoke on Wednesday at the unveiling of the book, “According to the President: Lessons from a Presidential Spokesperson’s Experience,” written by Garba Shehu.
