- After his appearance at the BRICS summit, Tinubu has not been seen in public and no further announcements have been made by the president about Tinubu’s itinerary
President Bola Tinubu will return to Nigeria later today after being away from the country for two weeks.
During his foreign trip, Tinubu visited Saint Lucia and later Brazil for the BRICS summit.
The President’s spokesman, Bayo Onanuga announced Tinubu’s return to Nigeria in a post on his official X handle.
Tinubu departed Abuja for Saint Lucia and Brazil on Saturday, June 28, 2025.
He paid a state visit to Saint Lucia as part of efforts to deepen Nigeria’s ties with Caribbean nations and strengthen South-South cooperation.
Tinubu departed Saint Lucia on July 4th for Brazil, where he attended the 2025 BRICS Summit, held July 6-7, 2025.
After his appearance at the BRICS summit, Tinubu has not been seen in public and no further announcements have been made by the president about Tinubu’s itinerary, fueling concern among Nigerians about his whereabouts and, particularly, his health condition. But the presidency disclosure of his imminent return today will quell the speculation and conjecture about his whereabouts.
