A fresh wave of attacks on villages in Katsina state has claimed at least seven lives, including a pregnant woman.
The deceased were brutally gunned down when the assailants attacked Kanikawa community, Kurfi Local Government Area, and Gidan Gado village in Funtua LGA.
Four people were reportedly killed in Kanikawa during an afternoon raid, while three others lost their lives later that night in Gidan Gado.
Security analyst Bakatsine, who broke the news on X on Monday, disclosed that many residents were also abducted.
“ Yesterday afternoon, bandits attacked Kanikawa community in Kurfi LGA, Katsina State, killing four people, including a pregnant woman. Later at night, they stormed Gidan Gado village in Funtua LGA, killed 3 more and abducted several residents,” Bakatsine wrote.
As at the time of filing this report, authorities have yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.
