There was no corruption during Buhari’s administration – Ex AGF, Malami

  • Malami stated that Buhari kicked against corruption and maintained an uncompromising stance against the menace.

The immediate past Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, says corruption did not thrive under former President Muhammadu Buhari.

He stated that Buhari’s administration tackled corruption head-on as it recorded thousands of convictions related to high-profile corruption cases.

Speaking during an interview on Arise TV on Tuesday night, Malami stated that Buhari, while in office, kicked against corruption and maintained an uncompromising stance against the menace.

According to Malami: “During the period of President Muhammadu Buhari, corruption was not thriving at all.

“If you talk of convictions associated with high-profile corruption cases, the government recorded convictions in thousands.”

Malami disclosed that $2 billion in looted funds was recovered during Buhari’s administration.

“He brought about the Single Treasury Account, which created a governance-wide visibility associated with funding the finances of the government,” Malami said
