- His resignation from the PDP is contained in a letter he personally signed dated June 12, 2025
Senator Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi, a Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, stalwart in Osun State has resigned from the party.
Fadahunsi represents Osun East Senatorial District in the National Assembly.
His resignation from the PDP is contained in a letter he personally signed, dated June 12, 2025 and submitted to the Ward Party Chairman, Ward 4, Obokun local government area of Osun State.
He cited irreparable, irreconcilable differences and perennial legal battles that engulfed the party at the National level after the 2023 general elections for his exit from the party.
He added that his decision followed consultation and engagement with his political associates, family and friends.
The letter reads, “I wish to formally notify you that I am resigning my Membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with immediate effect, due to the irreparable, irreconcilable differences and protracted legal battles that have bedevilled the party at the National level after the 2023 general elections.
“This was concluded after consultation and engagement with my political associates, family and friends.
“It is my wish that you accept my resignation in good faith.
“Thank you for your understanding.”
Meanwhile, a party insider with intimate knowledge of the matter said the plan has been long in the pipeline.
A stalwart added that Senator Fadahunsi had long lost interest in the PDP and was determined to leave the party despite pressures on him to stay put.
