One Mustapha Adamu has killed his friend, Yahuza Labaran, during a quarrel on a farm in Gombe State, the police have said.
The incident happened on Monday in Kulani Chessi village, Balanga Local Government Area of the state.
The 19-year-old suspect, who was said to have stabbed the deceased to death, has since been arrested by the police
It is gathered that the two friends had gone to the farm as usual when a confrontation ensued between them around 3pm. The cause of the disagreement is still unknown.
In the heat of the quarrel, Adamu was said to have pulled out a knife and stabbed 20-year-old Labaran in the shoulder, leaving him with deep injuries.
The victim was rushed to the Balanga General Hospital but was confirmed dead on arrival by a medical doctor.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Buhari Abdullahi, confirmed the incident to newsmen on Wednesday.
He disclosed that the police received the report on Tuesday and immediately moved to arrest the suspect.
According to him, Adamu confessed during interrogation that he didn’t mean to kill his friend but acted out of anger.
”We are still investigating the matter. The suspect will be charged in court soon,” Abdullahi said.
