A member of the Northern Elders Forum, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, has said that the current state of things in Nigeria is deeply troubling and leaves so much to be desired.
He said the country is plagued by widespread insecurity, hunger and hardship, adding that nobody is happy with the trajectory of the country.
Baba-Ahmed made this known on Wednesday when he appe on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme.
According to him, the forum was not surprised by his decision to walk away from his appointment as political adviser to President Tinubu.
He disclosed that the Forum was aware of his reservations and how displeased he was about the the way the Tinubu’s government is managing the affairs
He said: “Some members of the Northern Elders Forum knew about my feelings about the job, about the administration, about the direction this country was going. They knew I was unhappy about many things. So it wasn’t entirely a surprise when I walked around and said I am back.
“Nobody would tell you that they are entirely happy with the way the country is going. There is too much hunger, insecurity, and bloodshed.”
