  • Amaechi said he would discontinue the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway as the project is conceived to siphon public funds

Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has given a condition to back whoever clinch the presidential ticket of the African Democratic Congress, ADC.

Amaechi vowed to support ADC’s presidential candidate if he emerges from a credible and transparent primary election.

The former Rivers State governor said he would support whoever emerges ADC presidential candidate to unseat President Bola Tinubu.

He spoke during an X Space tagged ‘Weekend Politics’, Amaechi said he would discontinue the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway as the project is conceived to siphon public funds.

He said: “In a free and fair primary, whoever wins will have my full support. I will be deeply devoted to the campaign and will do everything in my ability to help ADC unseat this current clueless government.

“I will abandon the coastal road, that road is for stealing.

“Electoral reforms are the lowest-hanging fruit for me if I become President.

“There will be electoral reforms in my first six months.”

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and ex-Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, are believed to be interested in ADC’s presidential ticket
