“If the NFF calls me, I’ll be glad to come. The job is to coach the players to the maximum,” Utaka said.

The ex-international earned 48 caps and scored six goals for Nigeria, featuring in the squads that finished third at the 2006 Africa Cup of Nations in Tunisia and represented the country at the 2002 and 2010 FIFA World Cups.

Before landing his current role, Utaka had applied for the Flying Eagles coaching job but lost out to Aliyu Zubairu.
