The Chairman of Rano Local Government in Kano state, Naziru Ya’u, has been suspended for three months.
Ya’u was suspended from office by the state House of Assembly. His suspension starts on August 13, 2025.

The Majority Leader, who also serves as Chairman of the Assembly’s Complaint Committee, Lawan Husaini Dala, confirmed the development.
He said the residents of Rani accused the chairman of impunity and lack of transparency in his work.
The chairman was also accused of refusing to deliver the dividends of democracy.
