The presidency has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu, will not only win the 2027 presidential election but will garner two million votes in the South East region.

A presidential special adviser, Daniel Bwala, made this known during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Wednesday.

Bwala also said Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of Labour during the 2023 election, will not be the flagbearer of any political party, including the African Democratic Congress.

He also noted that the former Anambra Governor may not get the vice president slot.

Bwala noted that the votes Peter Obi garnered during the 2023 election had been slashed by 50 per cent.

He said the vote Obi polled in the 2023 elections was rooted in division and not grounded in agenda and politics.

“He is not going to get a ticket at any of the parties. That is Peter Obi. The problem now is that he might not get the vice presidential ticket from the way things are going.

“Whether Peter Obi is a ticket bearer of the party, he has lost 50 per cent of his votes because they were not votes built on agenda and politics, but they were built on rhetoric and division, and Nigeria’s people’s eyes are open,” he said.

Recall that Peter Obi, Atiku Abubakar, and other political heavyweights in July 2025 backed ADC as the platform for the opposition coalition to unseat President Tinubu
