- Tambuwal spoke a couple of days after he was released by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission following his arrest for allegedly withdrawing N189 million during his time as Sokoto governor.
Sokoto South Senator, Aminu Tambuwal, has vowed never to join the All Progressives Congress, APC, saying no amount of blackmail and intimidation can make him join the ruling party.
Tambuwal, a member of the opposition coalition, said he has no interest in seeking a soft landing or political “forgiveness of sins.”
Tambuwal spoke a couple of days after he was released by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission following his arrest for allegedly withdrawing N189 million during his time as Sokoto governor.
Addressing his supporters upon his return to Sokoto, the former state governor said his reputation cannot be tarnished by his traducers.
He said, “I do not want my sins to be forgiven, so I can’t join the APC. I cannot be intimidated. I cannot be blackmailed. No one can tarnish my records.”
The former Sokoto State governor maintained that the political landscape in Nigeria is sharply divided between “those with Bola Tinubu and his government” and “those with the people of Nigeria,” stressing that he has chosen to stand with the people.
