  • Adeleke said harmonised tax bills and reforms on ease of doing business were designed to attract long-term foreign investment.
  • The governor assured investors that security had been strengthened through Amotekun, working alongside police, army, and civil defence corps.

The governor of Osun state, Ademola Adeleke, has held an investment roundtable with lawmakers, mayors, and business leaders in Atlanta, United States.

The meeting, hosted by the chairman of Osun State Water Corporation, Samuel Oyedotun, took place at Zanzibar Cuisine and Lounge in Atlanta.

Young entrepreneurs, policy makers, city mayors, and potential investors from real estate, fintech, automobile, and agriculture sectors attended the roundtable.

Adeleke was accompanied by the commissioner for commerce and industry, Bunmi Jenyo, and the commissioner for rural development, Gani Olaoluwa.

He reiterated his administration’s commitment to driving foreign direct investment into Osun through infrastructure development and business-friendly reforms.

The governor said harmonised tax bills and improvements in the ease of doing business were repositioning Osun as an investor-friendly destination.

“With our priority on ease of doing business, no one will waste your time setting up a company,” Adeleke assured.

“Nobody will demand extra money before you invest in Osun State,” he added.

The governor also gave assurances on security, saying his administration had strengthened the Amotekun Corps to complement the police, army, and NSCDC.

He explained that the corps was providing local intelligence to safeguard citizens and protect investments.

Adeleke said Osun State was setting the standard for foreign businesses seeking a safe and profitable environment.

In his remarks, Oyedotun promised to work closely with the commissioner for commerce and industry to smoothen entry processes for interested investors.

Other participants at the roundtable included Jennifer Aragbata-Etok, special adviser to the Delta State governor, Khalid Kamau, mayor of South Fulton, senator Donnella James, senator Kenya Wick, representative Gabe Okoye, representative Segun Adeyina, and representative Kim Schofield.

Also in attendance were American actor Alphonso A’QenAten Jackson and gospel singer Darlene “McCoy” Jackson.
