  • Tinubu described late Mama Yilwatda as a virtuous woman committed to faith, service, and uplifting her community.
  • The president urged Nentawe Yilwatda to accept his mother’s passing as divine will and remain comforted by her legacy.

President Bola Tinubu has expressed condolences to the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Nentawe Yilwatda, over the death of his mother, Lydia Yilwatda.

Madam Lydia died on Sunday morning at the University of Jos Teaching Hospital, Plateau State, at the age of 83.

In a statement on Monday, the special adviser to the president on information and strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said Tinubu praised the life she lived.

The president described the deceased as “a woman of virtue who lived a life dedicated to faith, service, and the uplifting of her community.”

He urged the APC chairman to see the passing of his mother as the will of God.

“The President enjoins the APC chairman to accept her death as the will of Almighty God and be consoled by the life of purpose his mother lived,” the statement partly read.

Tinubu prayed for the repose of her soul and asked God to grant Yilwatda, his family, and all those she left behind the strength to bear the loss.
