Nigeria has recorded 612 new cases of coronavirus infections in seven states and the federal capital territory (FCT).

This was announced by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in its daily update for Saturday, December 11, 2021.

Since the Omicron COVID-19 variant was detected in Nigeria, there has been a surge in daily cases reported by the NCDC.

A breakdown of Saturday’s report showed that Lagos, the hardest-hit state, recorded the highest number of new positive samples with 483 cases, followed by FCT and Rivers with 49 and 38 new infections, respectively.
