  • He committed to conducting a thorough investigation into the incident, ensuring no stone was left unturned.
  • The Division has pledged to ensure justice for the deceased’s family and NURTW, ensuring no stone is left unturned in this matter.

The unfortunate death of a truck driver at a checkpoint on the Maiduguri – Dikwa – Gamboru road has been connected to the arrest of a soldier, according to the Nigerian Army’s 7 Division in Maiduguri.

Following the shooting on Boxing Day, which resulted from an altercation between the motorist and the soldier, angry commercial drivers blocked the crucial border road, stranding a great number of people.

In a statement released today, 7 Division Public Relations Officer Lt. Col. A.Y. Jingina confirmed the soldier’s detention.

In response to a complaint brought forward by the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Jingina pledged a thorough investigation and underlined the Division’s steadfast dedication to providing the deceased’s family with justice.
