  • The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia donated 300 malaria test kits to NAHCON, which was facilitated by the Saudi Ministry of Health
  • NAHCON’s Assistant Director highlighted the visit’s significance, emphasizing the effective collaboration between NAHCON and the Saudi MoH

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has received a generous donation of 300 Malaria Test Kits from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This contribution was facilitated through Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health (MoH). Dr. Yahya and Dr. Bandar delivered the donation during a visit to NAHCON’s Main Clinic at Misfala Kudai, AL-Musarifeen, as highlighted by NAHCON’s Assistant Director of Public Affairs, Fatima Sanda Usara.

Usara emphasized the significance of this visit, noting that it underscores the high level of responsibility and professionalism exhibited by NAHCON clinics. She stated, “The confidence in NAHCON’s primary healthcare system stems from effective collaboration between NAHCON’s health workforce and the Saudi MoH. This partnership ensures that serious cases referred to Saudi hospitals are stabilized and then returned to NAHCON clinics for continued observation, thus reducing bed occupancy at Saudi hospitals.”

The provision of these malaria test kits will facilitate early diagnosis and prompt treatment, further demonstrating the Saudi Health Ministry’s trust in NAHCON’s health facilities.

In preparation for this year’s Hajj season, the General Authority for the Care of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has announced the deployment of 251 golf carts and 10,000 handcarts for pilgrims. According to the Saudi Press Agency, these resources will be available at 20 distribution sites throughout the Grand Mosque and its courtyards.

The operational plan aims to serve 35,000 people daily, ensuring maximum efficiency and convenience for pilgrims. By the end of this year’s Hajj season in 1445 AH, the plan also aims to provide 10,000 handcart pushers to assist pilgrims, making their Hajj experience as smooth and comfortable as possible.
