  • Shettima is scheduled to engage in talks with key government officials, including Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden and the Swedish Prime Minister

Vice President Kashim Shettima is set for a two-day working visit to Sweden, where he will represent President Bola Tinubu in high-level bilateral discussions.

This was disclosed in a statement by Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications, on Wednesday.

During the visit, Shettima is scheduled to engage in talks with key government officials, including Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden and the Swedish Prime Minister.

The Vice President will also meet with stakeholders from the private sector to explore opportunities for enhanced collaboration between Nigeria and Sweden in areas such as ICT, innovation, education, digitalization, sustainable transport, mining, and agriculture.

According to Nkwocha, Shettima will hold discussions with Norrsken, a Stockholm-based venture capital impact investor, which recently launched Norrsken22, a $205 million tech investment fund for Africa. Norrsken22, backed by over 30 prominent unicorn founders, is focused on supporting exceptional entrepreneurs building Africa’s next tech giants, with 40% of its investments expected to go to Nigerian tech entrepreneurs.

The statement further revealed that 12 Nigerian private sector companies conducting business with Sweden will be accompanying the Vice President independently as a private sector bloc. Shettima will also use the platform to articulate Nigeria’s economic vision and the ongoing reforms aimed at creating a business-friendly environment for investors.
