- The presidential aide described the rehabilitation of the country’s petroleum refineries as a “historic achievement” for the All Progressive Congress (APC) administration.
Fredrick Nwabufo, senior special assistant to the president on public engagement, has characterized 2024 as “a year of manifest hope.”
During a special NTA program reflecting on 2024 and projecting 2025 expectations, Nwabufo shared his insights.
The presidential aide spotlighted President Bola Tinubu’s administration achievements, emphasizing the significant strides made last year.
“2024 was indeed a year of manifest hope,” Nwabufo remarked. “The President’s campaign promises are now taking shape. Some have already become a reality.”
“The President introduced financing solutions for cash-strapped Nigerians, fulfilling a key campaign promise. Additionally, NELFUND was established to support Nigerians pursuing higher education,” Nwabufo explained.
Nwabufo credited the administration’s success to its visionary and focused leadership, citing the Port Harcourt refinery rehabilitation as a prime example.
“Despite occasional setbacks, 2024 witnessed substantial transformation across various sectors,” he noted.
“Our leadership demonstrates boldness, daring, and focus. They grasp the nation’s needs, empathize with citizens, and envision a brighter future. I personally witnessed the Port Harcourt refinery’s revitalization,” Nwabufo elaborated.
The presidential aide hailed the rehabilitation of Nigeria’s petroleum refineries as a “historic achievement” for the APC administration.
He highlighted the administration’s policies, which have led to plummeting petroleum prices and “increased” competition.
“Consider the progress: two refineries are now operational – a state-owned refinery and the Dangote refinery,” Nwabufo pointed out.
“Most young Nigerians weren’t born when the refinery ceased operations. Its rehabilitation marks a historic milestone, underscoring the APC administration’s, Buhari administration’s, and Tinubu administration’s achievements,” Nwabufo added.
Nwabufo concluded that 2025 will be a very “propitious year of consolidation”, where Tinubu’s reforms will continue to yield positive results.
