Members of the Rivers State House of Assembly have adjourned the Assembly’s sittings indefinitely.
The lawmakers, who are loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, announced the adjournment on Friday.
The decision was reached during a plenary session presided over by Speaker Martin Amaewhule, the Nation reports.
The development comes just hours after Governor Siminalayi Fubara proposed Wednesday for the re-presentation of the 2025 budget.
The governor’s move was in compliance with the recent Supreme Court judgment mandating him to recognise the pro-Wike lawmakers
