- He opined that despite Wike’s significant change in fortune and elevation in socio-economic and political status, he has remained largely crass, uncultured and unrefined.
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Dele Momodu, says his role in the political elevation of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, cannot be overemphasised.
The media mogul disclosed that his publication, Ovation magazine, catapulted Wike to the mainstream of Nigerian politics and helped build and curate the image and stature he enjoys today.
Momodu is reacting to a recent remark by Wike, who referred to him as a “boy” during a national television appearance and implied that he was a failed politician, noting that Momodu contested for the presidency but failed to secure a single vote.
Speaking on Channels Television on Monday, Momodu said Wike was an ingrate as he has refused to acknowledge his contribution to his political journey.
He opined that despite Wike’s significant change in fortune and elevation in socio-economic and political status, he has remained largely crass, uncultured and unrefined, adding that the former Rivers State Governor has chronic alcohol addiction.
He said: “Wike benefits immensely from my talent and the pedigree of Ovation Media Group.
“We pushed him up. You know they say sometimes you can take the man out of the bush, but you can’t take the bush out of the man.
“He had one major problem, and that problem was too much alcohol.”
