  • The convention will now take place in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, instead of the initial venue of Kano State.

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has announced a new date for its elective national convention.

The national elective convention, which was initially scheduled to hold in August, has now been shifted to November.

The PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, made the disclosure on Thursday during the party’s 101st National Executive Committee meeting.

According to him, the convention will now take place in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, instead of the initial venue of Kano State.

In a related development, the acting PDP National Chairman, Umar Iliya Damagum, disclosed that most party members who had left for the coalition have started returning.

Damagum said those affected claimed that they never left the PDP but only attended a few coalition meetings.

The acting National Chairman described the coalition as a failed political experiment. He assured that only the PDP has the structure, national reach, and legacy to lead Nigeria forward.

Damagum insisted that only the PDP has what it takes to reclaim power from the All Progressives Congress-led government
